 "Does not work!" 2009-06-25
By Jason Hoomani (Franklin, TN USA)
I bought this device to stabilize a cargo rack. It did not work at all. I returned it and bought a Hitch-Vise, which cost more but works perfectly.

 "bike rack" 2009-08-29
By Larry J. Elliott (urbana, il)
It's not the best bike rack but, for what it cost it is worth the price. I am not sure you can carry 4 bikes on it, but since we carry only 2 it's just fine.

 "It worked!" 2009-08-19
By Hovrens (SoCal)
I was impressed on how fast it shipped. I ordered it two weeks prior to driving from SoCal to Montana hoping it would make it. It made it in 3 days. I was not so impressed with the feel/weight of the rack. It felt light due to the thin gauge metal used. I saw a hole in one of the welds through the metal tube construction. I was worried the bikes would not make it to Montana. After several miles, pot holes, and looks up in the rear view mirror, I started to build confidence the rack would prevail. It made it there with 4 bikes and home again with 4 bikes. I am very pleased. I know I could have spent more for a product that appeared more rugged, but for the money, this product did the job.

"Not so happy, 2' adapter pretty crappy" 2009-08-18
By Stephanie A. Kennedy (Detroit, MI)
This bike rack rocked back and forth so violently in the trailer hitch that we stopped at a hardware store and purchased tie downs.. (kinda defeats the purpose of a hitch style rack), also appeared to be used, threads on a bolt were smashed and rubber on the arm was deeply gouged. Emailed company, they stand by their product told me I could pay for return shipping if I wanted a refund. Would not reccommend this product if you have a 2' hitch!

 "Light-Duty Stabilizer, Maybe..." 2009-02-11
By J. McElroy (Georgia, USA)
I ordered this to stabilize a 1-Bike Scooter carrier. Barely made a difference. I tried screwing-down from the top & side with no better results either way.

This might be OK for a light duty rack, maybe a single bicycle but did nothing for a mid-weight carrier.

Another review stated it best, a piece of wood ("shim") might work just as well. That's what I will be trying next, as this is being returned.

"Works well with my bike carrier" 2008-12-28
By A. Wells (Colorado)
I don't have a Swagman bike carrier, but this worked with the carrier I have. I think it would work with just about an 2 inch hitch mounted carrier.

 "Stabilizer Hitch" 2008-09-29
By D. A. Lapiska (Pittsburgh Pa.)
This product works very well. The Swagman Hitch in general is also very good. It keeps the bikes very secure .I would recommend this very high. D A Lapiska Pgh. Pa

"Piece of wood might work just as well" 2008-08-14
By M. Anthony (Camden, DE)
We tried this because the Swagman bike rack we have was quite wobbly. This helped a little but I think a piece of wood or a shim might have worked just as well.

 "Does the job" 2008-07-09
By D. Kennedy (GA, USA)
Great product that does what it is intended to do. We use it on a Swagman bike carrier and it secures the carrier to a rock solid fit.
